Retro Tower Defense Trading Guide: How to Judge an Offer
Question 1: can supply still grow?
This is the one that does most of the work. 1 heroic is sold only as a Robux bundle — no amount of playing produces another. Void and Unique towers came from event tracks and gamepass windows that have closed. Against that, the 9 Gacha Heroes can be rolled by anyone, forever, and luck boosts speed that up. Two towers with identical stats are not worth the same if one of them is still being minted.
Skins split the same way and more sharply: 41 are buyable in the lobby shop today, while 184 came from events that ended. The full breakdown by obtain route is on the value and rarity index.
Question 2: what would it cost you to just build one?
If a tower is rollable or grindable, a trade is only worth making if it beats the cost of getting it yourself. That cost is knowable: tower paths lists the exact XP or daily-quest count for every path heroic, and the Tix-per-DPS table shows what each tower costs to bring to level 5 once you have it.
Question 3: what does it actually do?
Rarity and performance are not the same thing, and in this game they come apart badly. The highest-damage tower in the game is a grindable XP-path heroic; several expensive bundle towers sit mid-table. Before agreeing to anything, check both sides on the tier list. A trade that looks lopsided on rarity can be fine on impact, and the reverse.
There is no item lock (yet)
A question that keeps coming up: can you lock a tower or skin so nobody can offer for it? No — the feature does not exist. There is no untradeable flag and no favourite-and-protect; players were still asking for one in the community as of late August 2026. The only related control is all-or-nothing: Settings lets you turn trading off entirely, which kills incoming offers but also means missing the trade you actually wanted. Until a real lock ships, keeping a tower you care about is done the manual way — decline the offer. Nothing leaves your inventory without your accept.
Why this page does not print values
Because we would be making them up. Nobody publishes transaction data for this game — not the developer, not Roblox. A list of numbers with no source behind it looks authoritative and is not, and quoting one back to you would just launder someone else's guess through our domain. The inputs above are all verifiable, and they are what the value lists are guessing at anyway.
Trading questions
How does trading work in Retro Tower Defense?
Tower trading was added in 2026 and the game leads with it in its own description. You trade towers and skins with other players directly; there is no auction house and no in-game price feed, which is why the community leans on value lists.
Is a c00lkidd for Body Swap trade fair?
That exact swap is one of the most asked questions about this game, and there is no published answer. What can be said: c00lkidd is the only heroic locked entirely behind a 999 Robux bundle, so no amount of playing produces another one. Body Swap is a Void tower with no damage figures published, valued for what it copies rather than what it hits. Scarcity favours c00lkidd; field impact depends on your loadout. Anyone quoting you a precise ratio is quoting an opinion.
Can you lock towers or skins so they cannot be traded?
No. As of late August 2026 there is no per-item lock — you cannot flag a specific tower or skin as untradeable, and players are actively asking for one. The only switch that exists is global: Settings lets you disable trading entirely, which also stops every offer you might have wanted. Protecting a tower you want to keep means declining offers for it; nothing leaves your inventory without your accept.
Which towers hold value best?
The ones whose supply cannot grow. That is 1 bundle-only heroic and the event-locked Void and Unique towers. The 9 Gacha Heroes get more common every day someone rolls, and XP-path heroics get more common every day someone grinds.
